Age differences in the state of hemodynamics in diabetes mellitus patients

1989
: Age-related changes in hemodynamics assessed with the help of integral rheography were compared for two age groups of patients suffering from type I diabetes mellitus (DM). Twenty-three patients were under 40 (group 1) and twenty-five were over 40 (group 2). Age-related changes typical for central hemodynamics in health disappeared in decompensated DM and were not registered after DM compensation. More profound hemodynamic affections were recorded in group 1 patients who had probably impaired parasympathetic innervation of the heart.
