Association between subclinical hypothyroidism and diabetic vascular complications in type 2 diabetic patients

This retrospective analysis showed that the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism(SCH)was 15.7%in 382 type 2 diabetic patients.The prevalences of cardiovascular disease and diabetic nephropathy were significantly higher in diabetic patients with SCH than those without SCH(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that SCH was an independent risk factor for diabetic nephropathy[OR=1.9(95%CI 1.0-3.6),P<0.05].
