Determination of trace Iron(III) based on second order scattering spectra of orange G

2013
The interaction of orange G with Fe3+ was studied.A second order scattering(SOS) method for the determination of Fe3+ has been developed based on the enhancement of SOS of orange G in the presence of Fe3+.Through the futhure investigation of sensitizing situation,λex=331 nm and λem= 662 nm were used as operating wavelengths.Linear relationship between the enhancement of SOS signals(ΔIsos) and concentration of Fe3+ was observed in the range of 0.010~1.40 μg/mL with a detection limit of 0.003 μg/mL.The proposed method has been applied to the analysis of trace Fe3+ in running water and hair with satisfactory results, and the recoveries were in the range of 95.9%~103.8%.
