Analysis of Unusually High Ozone Peaks in the Vienna Urban Plume
1992
The four highest measured ozone peaks in the Vienna area were analysed with respect to temperature and wind field with the help of the OZIPR computer model (Gery et al. 1990), a box model with hourly emission and meteorological input, in conjunction with the CBM-IV-mechanism (Gery et al. 1989). Calculated peak ozone values for a receptor point 10 km downwind of Vienna matched measured values within −3 % to + 16 % and have been identified as effects of high temperature (approx. 60 % of local o3 formation) and low wind speed (approx. 40 % respectively) under constant precursor emissions.
