Bundaberg Irrigation Area Groundwater Investigation Project, Bundaberg, Australia
1999
In 1998/99 a study of the groundwater system of the Bundaberg Irrigation Area was undertaken. This project was a joint study involving the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Bundaberg and Geo-Eng Australia. One of the primary objectives of the study was to acquire sufficient data on the extent and properties of the groundwater system to enable the establishment of a new groundwater model of the whole groundwater system of the Bundaberg Irrigation Area (BIA). Another primary objective was to systematically apply geophysical, geological and hydrogeological techniques in a combined study and gather permeability data by various methods for identification of permeability trends. Previous knowledge was integrated in the investigation, and built on using modern approaches, providing a baseline study and modern database for future work.
