Reasonable career expectations of graduate engineers

1984
Considerable effort is expended on discussion of desired forms and content of engineering education, as well as the desired attributes of engineers as perceived by employers. It is appropriate also to examine the expectations of engineering graduates and the extent to which they are fulfilled. The relation between expectation and realisation has a bearing on performance in a profession and its attractiveness as a field of activity. Some expectations are discussed and compared with present realities.
