BitErrorRateCharacteristics of3B-2TCode and4B-3TCode

In this paper we havetried to apply severalPRML (partial response maximum-likelihood) techniques toa 3B-2T codeanda4B-3Tcode, bothconventional ter¬ naryrecording codes, andhaveevaluated the bit errorrate(BER) performance forthere¬ quired S/Natthereadout point byusing both techniques on statetransition andsymbol transition matrices. Theresults showthatthe PR(1,0,-1) ML technique canbemadetopro¬ videthebestperformance amongtheseveral combinations of PRML techniques with 3B-2Tand4B-3Tcodes.
