Field Studies of Systemic Insecticides. III. Evaluation of phoxim for control of fleas on kangaroo rats and associated species
1977
Phoxim was evaluated as an oral systemic insecticide for control of fleas on kangaroo rats and associated rodent species. In 2 open-field tests of 0.24% phoxim (applied as a surface coat on grain bait), effective reductions in treatment flea indices were recorded by 27–28 days postapplication. Much more rapid control was achieved in 2 tests of 0.36% phoxim, in which treatment flea indices were significantly reduced within 7 days in the 1st test and 2 days in the 2nd. Treated-area flea populations were depressed continuously while treated bait was available.
