: The beneficial response of post-infarct patients and elderly, clinically healthy individuals to exercise training programs has emphasized the very important role that rehabilitation plays in releasing undiscovered potential. Illness may sometimes provide a starting point, as a marker of our mortality, for using physical activity in rehabilitation as a powerful symbol for rediscovering, both physically and emotionally, our capacity to expand our potential as human beings.
