Arteritis de Takayasu. PresentaciÓn como síndrome febril prolongado

2002
Takayasu's arteritis is a chronic vasculitis of unknown etiology. It affects the aorta and its principal branches. This compromise could lead to the complete occlusion of the arteries. Systemic symptoms are a common finding in the early stages of the disease. Angiography is usually needed to confirm diagnosis. Treatment is based on immunosuppression classically with steroids and eventually another immunosuppressive drugs that include Methotrexate or Cyclophosphamide. We describe a case that presented with prolonged fever.
