CARS Thermometry For High Pressure Gases

1987
Coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) has been used to study gas states in relation to combustion. In particular, it can be used to determine gas temperature, because the CARS spectral width and shape change sensitively with temperature. We can deduce temperature from the observed spectra in comparison with theoretical curves [1] or with standard spectra obtained for gas at known temperatures.
