Lithium Tris[ (3-tert-butyl-3-pentyl)oxy] Aluminum Hydride: A Selective Reagent for Reduction of Cyclic, Bicyclic and Open-Chain Cram Type Ketones

Lithium tris [(3-tert-butyl-3-pentyl)oxy] aluminum hydride, a highly hindered lithium trialkoxyaluminum hydride was synthesized. Quantitative and highly stereoselective reduction of various cyclic, bicyclic and open-chain Cram type ketones was achieved by use of this reagent.
