La vida en el centro: los discursos antibélicos de las mujeres en la obra de Elena Fortún

espanolEste trabajo trata de arrojar luz acerca de lo que a priori parece una contradiccion: Celia en la revolucion es una obra que refuerza los roles tradicionales pero al mismo tiempo consigue lanzar un mensaje antipatriarcal y antibelico a traves del protagonismo de Celia y toda una red de mujeres que rechazan la brutalidad de la guerra. No cabe duda de que las mujeres y las ninas, de un bando o del otro, se situan en su mayoria en espacios domesticos y de cuidados, ajenas a las decisiones politicas y a la contienda. Sin embargo, sus relatos y su lucha diaria por mantener la vida adquieren una posicion central en la novela. Celia relata su papel activo en la organizacion de hospitales, guarderias y redes de ayuda que suponen la unica defensa frente a la barbarie. Es asi como Celia en la revolucion, que no deja de ser una novela de mujeres que cuidan, articula un discurso solido y polifonico, capaz de cuestionar la destruccion y las atrocidades que provoca la estructura patriarcal. Celia da voz a las que denuncian la cultura belica y sus mecanismos y vislumbra, entre las bombas, otra forma de organizacion social: aquella que pone la vida y a las personas en el centro. EnglishThis work endeavors to shed light on what seems, a priori, to be a contradiction: Celia en la revolucion is a work that reinforces traditional gender roles but, at the same time, it succeeds in sending an anti-war and anti-patriarchy message through themain character, Celia, and a whole network of women who reject the brutality of war. There is no doubt that most of the women and girls on both sides occupy domestic spaces and caregiving roles, removed from the fighting and political decisions. Nevertheless, their stories and their daily struggle to maintain their quality of life are found at novel’s center. Celia describes her active role in the organization of hospitals, childcare centers, and support networks that make up their only defense against the barbarity of the war. Thus, although Celia en la revolucion remains a novel about women in caregiving roles, it articulates a solid and polyphonic discourse that is capable of questioning the destruction and atrocities provoked by the patriarchal society. Celia gives a voice to those who denounce the militant culture and its mechanisms, and between the bombs she glimpses other kinds of social organization: those in which life and people are given primary importance.
