A Method based on Extension of SIP for IMS QoS between Heterogeneous Networks

The NGN network, taking IMS as its core, has been widely considered as the network architecture suitable for the future integration of fixed and mobile networks. To guarantee cross-network QoS of IMS, it requires the cooperation between heterogeneous networks. This paper analyzes IMS QoS mechanism, points out the defects of SIP protocol in the aspects of resource negotiation, resource reservation and resource guarantee; advances a method based on SIP extension for IMS QoS between heterogeneous networks; and discusses the improvement achieved by this method in the signaling flow. Finally, this paper gives the concrete realization of the program.
