DERMATOFILOSE: RELATO DE CASO EM BOVINOS DA RAÇA NELORE CRIADOS EM REGIME DE CONFINAMENTO

2009
Dermatophilosis is a contagious zoonotic skin disease caused by Dermatophilus congolensis. It affects mainly cattle, sheep and horses, but also goats and pigs. This study describes clinical and epidemiological characteristics as well as diagnosis and treatment of dermatophilosis in 4 Nelore feedlot-raised cattle from Botucatu, Sao Paulo. Skin samples of lesions were submitted to cytological, microbiological, and histopathological examination, which confirmed the diagnosis of dermatophilosis. Animals were treated with oxitetracyclin (20 mg/kg BW every 48 hours).
