Adaptive Target Tracking Algorithm for Two-Channel Microphone Array Using Generalized Sidelobe Cancellers

2001
This paper proposes a two-channel adaptive microphone array to reduce noise in hands-free speech communication. In the proposed method, the input from microphones is transformed into the frequency domain, and the Generalized Sidelobe Cancellers (GSC) is applied to each band signal to make directional property. An adaptive target tracking algorithm is proposed in order to prevent the cancellation of target signal that occurs in adaptive processing. The proposed method is based on the adaptive updating of the constraint used in the GSC. Computer simulations show that the proposed method improves SNR at the output when the source of target voices moves.
