Volatile inactivator for enveloped virus

PURPOSE: To obtain a volatile inactivator for an enveloped virus, comprising a volatile substance capable of effectively inactivating a pathogenic virus as an active ingredient and emitting a fragrance. CONSTITUTION: The objective volatile inactivator comprises at least one selected from pinenes, cineoles, a compound of formula I (R 1 and R 2 are H or together denote single bond; R 3 is alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl), e.g. linalool, a compound of formula II (R 4 to R 7 are H or R 4 and R 5 or R 6 and R 7 respectively together denote single bond), e.g. citronellal, a compound of formula III (either of J 1 and J 3 is H and the other, together with J 2 , denotes single bond between the adjacent carbon atoms; J 4 to J 6 are H or single bond between the adjacent carbon atoms), e.g. geraniol, a compound of formula IV (J 7 is H or ≤4C alkyl; J 8 is ≤4C alkyl; J 9 is ≤4C alkenyl), e.g. eugenol and sandalwood oil.
