Calculating room acoustic parameters by finite element method

2011
Room impulse response and the acoustical parameters of an actual room were calculated with acoustics finite element method using Comsol Multiphysics software. The procedure of calculating room impulse response and acoustic parameters were introduced. The calculated acoustics parameters up to octave bands of 500Hz were then compared with the field measured results. The FEM is proved to be a useful tool to predict the room acoustic parameters in low frequency range.
