This novel study uses endothelial cells derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (HiPS-ECs) as proof of concept for autologous cell therapy for vascular damage by targeting cells to the area of inflammation via the overexpression of interleukin 8 (IL-8) receptors on the cell surface.
