Statistical approach to large trasverse momentum phenomena in meson-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon collisions

It is shown that the new features of large transverse momentum phenomena observed in high-energy inclusive ..pi../sup plus-or-minus/p and pp reactions can be understood in terms of a statistical model. Consequences of this model in other processes, for example, K/sup plus-or-minus/p and pp, are also discussed. (AIP)
