De padre de "cheque" a "padre ejemplar". Relación entre padres michoacanos, migrantes laborales temporales, y sus hijos

espanolEn el presente documento se presenta un acercamiento cualitativo, exploratorio, sobre la interaccion que se esta generando entre padres, migrantes laborales temporales, originarios de poblaciones rurales en el estado de Michoacan, y sus hijos; tanto durante su estancia en el extranjero, como a su regreso al lugar de origen. El acercamiento se da desde la vision de los propios actores sociales que hablan de su busqueda de satisfactores a sus necesidades materiales de subsistencia, de sus comportamientos, y de los sentimientos y emociones que se recrean en las interacciones familiares, cuando se esta presente en el hogar, o de aquellas que se dan en su ausencia. Los datos etnograficos se obtuvieron en entrevistas realizadas a trabajadores agricolas que son contratados para trabajar temporalmente en Estados Unidos (con las visas H2-A) o en Canada (en el PTAT). EnglishThis document presents a qualitative and exploratory approach to issues related to the interaction generated among parents, seasonal labor migrants from rural populations in the state of Michoacan (western Mexico), and the latter’s children, during both the periods when migrants are away working in the United States or Canada, and when they return to their places of origin. The research captures this interaction from the perspective of the social actors themselves who spoke of their efforts to provide for their families’ material and subsistence needs, as well as their own behaviors, sentiments and emotions recreated through family interaction when they are present in the home, or those that arise when they are absent. The ethnographic data were obtained through interviews with agricultural workers contracted to work seasonally in the U.S. (on H2-A visas) and Canada (in the PTAT Program).
