Selection Method of the Matching Area of Underwater Gravity-Aided Inertial Navigation Based on Vector Characteristics

The selection of matching area is the key technology of underwater gravity-aided inertial navigation, which directly affects the accuracy and efficiency of underwater navigation. A new selection method for gravity matching area based on vector characteristics is investigated in this paper. Gravity anomaly vector map is established based on triangulated irregular network (TIN). The comprehensive characteristic parameter is built by combining gravity anomaly slope, relief and roughness which are extracted from the vector model. Finally, selection criterion of gravity matching area is proposed. Simulation experimental results show that the method is superior and more effective than the traditional method.
