The invention relates to a dish brake, comprising a base, a stator disc fixed with the base, a brake coil arranged in the stator disc, an active disc actively connected in series with the stator disc, a braking spring arranged between the active disc and stator disc, a braking disc sleeved on the base, a pair of friction disks arranged on the left side and the right side of the braking disc and attached on the inner side of the active disc and the base, a bush arranged in a mounting hole of the base, an mounting base for fixing with the a traction machine, a guide rod sleeved the bush and fixed with the mounting base, an adjusting bolt arranged on an electromagnet holding device and a locknut. The dish brake is characterized in that: the active disc and stator disc are formed a work clearance; the electromagnet holding device is arranged at front end of one side of the guide rod far from the mounting base or rear end of the other side of the guide rod near the mounting base, and the electromagnet holding device can be locked on the guide rod when powering on and is locked by the locknut after being screwed with the base. The dish brake has the advantages of friction avoiding, reduced noise, prolonged service life, convenient installation and commissioning, simple structure and low cost.
