Transient fungemia and Candida arthritis due toCandida zeylanoides

A 37 year old man developed transient fungemia caused byCandida zeylanoidesfollowing a kidney and pancreas transplant. For the next seven months the patient had signs and symptoms of right knee arthritis.Candida zeylanoideswas finally identified as the aetiological agent. Treatment with intravenous amphotericin B was successful. To our knowledge this is the first report ofCandida zeylanoidesarthritis.
