Over schadelijke organisaties
1987
A discussion of organizations that are harmful to their environments, eg, organized crime, overactive bureaucracies, totalitarian dictatorships. Harm may occur if the constituents are sufficiently ignorant about the organization's performance or are kept from leaving its sphere of influence. Harmful organizations survive by means of: selection, by which harmful organizations experience faster & greater growth than their harmless counterparts; counterproductivity, which activates the demand for output, resulting in accelerated growth; suppression or neutralization of the opposition; & conflict. The origin of such organizations is examined, as well as the conditions fostering their emergence as dominant factors in an environmental niche. 6 Figures, 105 References. Modified HA
