The invention relates to novel 3-biphenyl RAZOLES AND SUBSTITUTED BIS pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds are angiotensin II receptor antagonists, AND ARE USED TO TREAT HYPERTENSION (HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE LOWERING), Congestive Heart Failure, ELEVATED eye pressure, cerebral thrombosis, angina, heart failure, heart attack or diabetic nephropathy. The invention relates also to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of the invention, a method for the treatment of physiological conditions in a mammal undergoing treatment THROUGH Angiotensin II comprising administering an effective amount of COMPOUND OF THE INVENTION A a mammal, and processes for preparing compounds of the invention.
