Comprehensive evaluation of serum detecting markers for hepatic fibrosis

2004
Objective To evaluate relationship between diagnostic criteria of hepatic fibrosis in serum and levels of hepatic fibrosis, and to explore diagnostic criterion of non-invasive hepatic fibrosis. Methods To detect hyaluronic acid(HA),mucoprotein (LN),Ⅳ-collagen(IV-C),Ⅲ procollagen(PC Ⅲ)by ELISA,monoamine oxidase (MAO),alanine aminotransferase(ALT) by enzyme kinetics,su- peroxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde (MDA) by chemistry chromatometry in patients with he- patic fibrosis. The resnlts were compared with pathologic stages of hepatic fibrosis. Results Levels of HA, LN,Ⅳ-C,PC Ⅲ,ALT,MAO and MDA of patients with hepatic fibrosis were higher than those of control groups(P0.01,or,P0.05),but SOD was lower, and had positive correlation with hepatic fibrosis histopathology.Correlation coefficients were 0.942 for HA,0.835 for LN,0.812 for Ⅳ-C,0. 764 for PCⅢ,respectively. Conclusion HA,LN,Ⅳ-C,PCⅢ have higher diagnostic value. But LN has lower value for diagnosis.Abnormality rates of ALT,MAO reach above 80% to 90% in hepatic fibro- sis.Meanwhile, lipid peroxidation of hepatic fibrosis is up,antioxidation is lower.Free radicals take part in occurrence process of hepatic fibrosis. It is necessary for diagnosis of hepatic filbrosis to perform comprehensive evaluation of serum detecting markers.
