Experimental destruction of the joint cartilage and the results of traction treatment

1983
The tibial plateau cartilage of both legs has been destructed and traction applied on one leg, the other being left without traction in Wistar rats. The aim of this experience was to survey the extent of cartifage regeneration when pressure on the joint is aboted. The results have shown that cartilage regenerotion was better histologically in the leg under traction compared to the left leg undisturbed.
