Efficacy study and nursing observation of hypertherrnotherapy combined with cisplatin injected into thoracic cavity in the treatment of malignant pleural effusion
2010
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of hyperthermotherapy plus cis-platinum (DDP) in the treatment of pleural effuion from malignant neoplams. Methods Sixty-eight cancer patients with pleural effuion were divided into two groups. Group A was treated with DDP and dexamethasone injected into thoracic cavity plus hyperthermotherapy. Group B was treated with DDP and dexamethasone into thoracic cavity alone. Four weeks later, the efficacy was evaluated by UCG. Results The efficacy of control pleural effuion of Group A was 89. 47 %, and Group B was 63. 33 % ( P < 0. 05 ) respectively. These were no difference between two group in toxity and gastrointestinal side effects. Only two cases of group A showed light red skin, both dispearing in 24 h. Conclusions The combination use of hyperthermotherapy and DDP shows evidence of synergitic and additional effect. It can improve the patients life quality. It is worth further studying.
