Hydrogen and sodium ions co-intercalated vanadium dioxide electrode materials with enhanced zinc ion storage capacity

2021
Abstract With the increasing consumption of non-renewable resources, it has become an imperious task to explore desiring energy storage devices with high energy density and long cycling life. As emerging energy storage devices, aqueous Zn ion batteries (AZIBs) possess low-cost, environmentally friendly and highly safe feature. In this work, we prepare a kind of unique tunnel structured Na+ doping VO2 nanobelts (NVO) with durable cycle stability. The assembled Zn/NVO batteries deliver a large specific capacity and rate performance due to the co-intercalation of crystal water and Na+. The pre-intercalation strategy can greatly enhance the electrochemical performance of vanadium oxide electrode materials and provide new ideas for developing some other cathode materials for AZIBs.
