Application of evidence-based nursing care in postoperative pain management of children with pulmonary sequestration

2017
Objective To explore the effect of the application of evidence-based nursing care in postoperative pain management in children with pulmonary sequestration. Method 105 participants were divided into a control group (n=52) and an intervention group (n=53) by random number table. The control group was routinely cared; in addition, the intervention group was given evidence-based nursing care. The pain scores on the surgery day and the first day after surgery and the family members’ satisfaction scores were collected. Results On the surgery day and the first day after surgery, the pain scores were (4.36±0.79) and (2.28±0.72) in the intervention group, which were significantly lower than those in the control group [(5.12±0.88) and (2.83±0.76)]. The family members’ satisfaction was 98.11% in the intervention group and was 71.15% in the control group, with a statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusions Evidence-based nursing care can effectively alleviate postoperative pain in children with pulmonary sequestration and satisfy the family members, so it is worth being clinically generalized.
