Distribution of Heavy Metals in the Mid-South Part of South China Sea Water

2013
During the investigation in the South China Sea in the autumn of 2010,the sea water samples were taken for some trace heavy metals(such as Cr、Cu、Pb、Zn、Cd and Pb)analyses from different layers of 16 stations. The heavy metals in seawater were determinated by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS 7500ce) which had ISIS sampling system. The distribution of heavy metals in the south china sea water was investigated.Meanwhile, the Salinity、Temperature、pH、Dissolved Organic Carbon(DOC) and Dissolved Oxygen(DO) in the seawater were also mensurated, and the correlation of them with heavy metals was studied. It could be seen from the analytical results that the concentration of heavy metal was low and varied during a small range.Except Pb in some stations, the concentration values of Cu、Cr、Zn As and Pb did not exceed those of the First-Classed Seawater Quality Standard of China. The distribution of all heavy metals in different stations was in the similar way,and the varying trend during different heavy metals had obvious relativity, also, the Salinity、Temperature、pH、Dissolved Organic Carbon(DOC) and Dissolved Oxygen(DO) had more obvious regulation with the distribution of each heavy metal.
