Effective observation of four kinds of formulation of mosquito repellents at Beiwan frontiers

Objective To study the effect of four kinds of formulation of mosquito repellents against Aedes vexans at Beiwan.Methods The mosquito repellent was painted on the lower limbs of the subjects on-the-spot,then the effective ratios and effective protection ratios were observed.Results The effective protection ratios of the four kinds of formulation were comparatively high(98.33%~99.79%),but the protection time were relatively short and the effective ratios were comparatively low of the four kinds of formulation mosquito repellents.But the protection time of 30%~40% subjects exceeded 60 mins of the second and the third kind of formulation.The protection time of the first kind of formulation at the low density was varying different from at the high density.Conclusion The mosquito repellents could not perfectly prevent the stings of mosquito,but they could extremely reduce the stings.Reasonably using the mosquito repellent could well protect people against the bites.
