Symmetry breaking and renormalization effects for an SU(n) model with two scalar fields

1984
Abstract The symmetry breaking patterns and mass spectrum are found for an SU( n ) gauge theory with scalar fields in the fundamental and adjoint representations. The shape of the potential and the symmetry of the potential minimum are found to have a non-trivial renormalization group behaviour. This is a real physical effect but does not change the mass spectrum of the theory.
