Microstructure and optical property of silver film prepared on the 77K glass substrate

2003
The silver films were prepared ot the room and 77K temperature on the glass substrates. The microstructures and optical properties of the films were studied with the XRD, SEM and Ellipsometer respectively. Experimental optical constants are consistent to the theoretic results. Comparing the silver film deposited on the 77K glass substrate with the silver film deposited on the room temperature glass substrate, the surface of the former is smoother, the particles of the surface of the former is smaller, the real parts of optical dielectric functions of two kinds films are almost same, the image parts of the former are biger, the optical absorption of the former increases and the absorption peaks of the former bluesift and broaden. It can be concluded that optical absorption spectrum (strength、position) is dependent on the dielectric constants and the particles' size of metal film.
