Network Elements′ Internal Storage Based Streaming Media Distribution

Now,CDN and P2P are the main streaming media distribution techniques.However,the both two techniques have not considered the storage resources located on equipments which are in the center of network topology.Inspired by the thought of adding some storage resources on network core equipments,a new streaming media distribution model is presented,which is called put/get model.It takes network equipments′ buffer as transit depots of content distribution process,so it can match underlying network topology well and realize the maximization of network utilization.In this model,the streaming media distribution problem is formulated as an optimization problem.A heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve the problem.The correctness of the algorithm is evaluated by simulations.Experimental results show that the algorithm is outperforms most existing schemes.
