An Attittude Towards Teeth Cleaning Of The Fifth Standard Of Mcd Primary School Children Of South Delhi, India

The attitude towards teeth cleaning among primary school children were noticed very poor. Thus the present study was aimed to know the attitude towards teeth cleaning in them during pre and post teaching assessment . This cross section survey this study has been carried out in the age group of 915 years of both sex in two primary schools of New Delhi, India. The Data was collected in 180 children in two stages, in the pre-teaching assessment by WHO structured questionnaire in local language. After 30 days, in post teaching assessment with same questionnaire was done after providing dental health education for one hour. The change of tooth brush in every three months, six months and with frayed bristles were 24.44%, 21.67% and 53.89% in pre teaching assessment respectively while 43.89% , 25.0% and 31.11% in post teaching assessment respectively. The use of tooth paste in tooth brush in full length, half length and pea size were 56.67% , 27.78% and 15.56% in pre teaching assessment respectively while 19.44%, 33.89% and 46.67% in post teaching assessment respectively. The visit to dentist were regularly 6-12 months , occasionally and with pain were 3.89%, 17.22% and 78.89% in pre teaching assessment respectively while 7.22%, 56.11% and 36.67% in post teaching assessment respectively. There was significant improvement in the quantity of tooth paste used, duration of change of tooth brush after use and the visit to the dentist after dental health education.
