European audiovisual industry is today at crossroads because it has to meet global market needs and it is re quired to look for new funding mechanisms. At the same time, European Commission has just started new policy actions towards fostering EU as a global player. European audiovisual policy is also strengthening its external dimension. One good example of this trend is the internationalization of MEDIA programme (IN TERNATIONAL and MUNDUS). These new funding programmes help EU to become a growing global player.
