This paper contents that a significant proportion of the inhabitants of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are deprived of safe drinking water despite the existence of ample water resources in the subregion. Wrong technologies, poor planning processes, and ineffective environmental managements strategies are substantially responsible for the dearth of water supplies
