Demystifying Robotics Technology in Biology Education

2019
Robotics is a learning environment that provides engagement through the use of authentic technology tools. Integrating Robotics in the curriculum contributes to the enhancement of thinking and learning skills of the students in Science, Math, and Computer Technology. This activity aims to provide a framework of robotics technology in the discourse of biology education encompassing the predicaments in the ecology and conservation biology, agricultural crisis, human physiology, and biotechnology and their application.   This introduces platforms that utilizes design-based thinking, as an approach to be integrated in problem solving, and enable to generate innovative solutions. Design thinking allows creation of state-of-the-art strategies and experiences to architect processes and develop products, and services. This workshop is designed to provide practical exercises to create complex design combining the engineering process and programming including: (1) empathizing; (2) definition; (3) ideation; (4) prototyping; and (5) testing. Keywords: Robotics Technology, Biology Education, Design Thinking, Biology Education,
