A Golden Opportunity to Make Travel More Golden

The Federal Highway Administration has released the Handbook for Designing Roadways for the Aging Population in response to a surge in aging road users. It is estimated that by 2030, one-fifth of the United States population will be older adults, and it is necessary for transportation professionals to consider the consequences of the changing demographics. The Handbook includes treatments and countermeasures for specific areas of concern for aging road users.
