Study on Polyphenols in Different Varieties of Tobacco from Main Tobacco Areas of Yunnan Province

[Objective] To study polyphenols contents in 3 main cultivars of flue-cured tobacco from different areas of Yunnan Province.[Method]HPLC method was adopted to determine polyphenols in 3 main cultivars of flue-cured tobacco from different areas of Yunnan Province,the distribution characteristics of polyphenols in different grades,regions and varieties flue-cured tobacco were studied.[Result] The results showed that polyphenols content had no significant difference between Kunming and Qujing tobacco.However,Honghe tobacco showed significant difference with Kunming and Qujing areas,respectively.The polyphenols contents in different varieties were different degrees of variation.There were significant differences between Hongda with K236 and Yun87,respectively,while K326 had no significant difference with Yun87.The polyphenols in different grades tobacco were significantly different.[Conclusion] The study can provide data reference for proper use of high-quality tobacco in Yunnan Province.
