The Sequence of the Chloroplast Gene for the ATPase Beta Subunit(atpB) from Populus tomentosa

The sequence of the atpB gene determined from PCR product of chloroplast genomic DNA of Populus tomentosa. The codon sequence of the atpB gene of Populus tomentosa is 1497 nucleotide long that encodes 498 amino aids of ATPase beta subunit of chloroplast. Its DNA sequence showed 92%, 87% and 84% identity, and amino acid sequence shares 94%, 92% and 89% identity with those of the Nicotiana tabacum, Oryza sative, Pinus thunbergii, respectively.
