Cross section of the reaction /sup 85/Rb(. gamma. , n)/sup 84m,g/Rb

The cross section for the formation of isomeric states /sup 84m,g/Rb in the photoneutron reaction on the /sup 85/Rb nucleus was measured for the first time in this work by the method of induced activity. In previous works the isomeric ratios of the cross sections sigma/sub m//sigma/sub g/ or the yields Y/sub m//Y/sub g/ of this reaction were measured for energies above the energy of the gigantic dipole resonance. In this work the energy dependence of Y/sub m//Y/sub g/ is obtained for E/sub ..gamma..m/ = 25 MeV/, with a step of E/sub ..gamma..m/ = 0.5 MeV. The values obtained for the yields were rescaled to the cross sections of the corresponding reactions by the photon difference method, and in addition the absolute values of the cross sections were determined by comparing with the cross section of the monitor reaction /sup 65/Cu(..gamma.., n)/sup 64/Cu.
