The Suppression of Artificial Events in Super-virtual Refraction by Radon Transformation

2015
The muting window in super-virtual refraction interferometry avoids the retrieval of multiple refractions or refractions coming from deeper refractors. When we enlarge the window to include all the refraction information, there would be many artificial seismic events generated by super-virtual refraction interferometry, which disturb the identification and picking of real refraction information. Based on the super-virtual refraction of convolution and correlation types, we analyze the generation of artificial events and use the radon transformation to suppress these unwanted events in the virtual refraction stage. The results from synthetic and field data show the great improvement of all the real refraction information.
