Estimulação precoce em bebê pré termo como intervenção da terapia ocupacional

Prematurity refers to the birth of a baby with a gestational age of 37 weeks. It is known that this circumstance, related to a prolonged hospitalization, establishes a risk factor for neuropsychomotor development (DNPM). The research aims to analyze the effects of occupational therapeutic intervention, early stimulation on the development of premature babies. The methodology used was the integrative review in the databases of Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Sistem on-li (Medline) and Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO Brasil), using the descriptors “Early stimulation and prematurity”; ‘Occupational therapy and prematurity”; “Early stimulation”; “Early stimulation and prematurity”; “Occupational and premature therapy”. Eight articles were analyzed according to the inclusion criteria: articles published in Portuguese, articles published and indexed in the referred databases in the last ten years, which present considerations on the theme of early stimulation in preterm babies: resource of a therapy intervention occupational. Occupational Therapy intervenes in a positive and functional way when it comes to early stimulation, in which the OT professional develops methods and techniques that influence the development of the individual as a whole, always with the main objective in the quality of life and independence promoting the global development. The role of the occupational therapist in PE in preterm babies aims at physical, psychological, sensory, social and family development.
