State of Data Privacy During COVID-19

Welcome to the first edition of the “Data” column. Our goal is to bring the latest trends and developments on data in light of developments from around the world. In this first column, we focus on the state of the practice of data privacy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We explore what data are collected during this time and how private companies, health agencies, and governments are planning to use these data to control the outbreak and spread of the coronavirus as well as taking some measures for safe use of the highly personal data from users around the world.
