Production Unit Supply Management Solution in Agent-Based Computational Economics Model

2015
This paper is focused on the description of (supply) management of a production unit (represented by multi-agent sub-system) in the model of agent-based computational economy. The concept is described both from internal and external perspective. Internal view describes internal processes like supplies management, production line processes and workforce allocation. External view is focused on interactions with other agents in the model environment, which provide necessary resources, workforce, and products required for continuous production. Both sides of communication are handled by production unit interface agent. Production of the unit is planned according to production contracts traded on the common market via broker agents. In order to function properly, behavior of agents in the model is designed according to common microeconomic principles. Internal architecture of the production unit is of large importance in the model, which is the main topic we would like to present and discuss in this paper.
