Estudos para o controle do caramujo africano (Achatina fulica, Bowdich 1822) na APA Baia Negra, Ladário, MS

2018
The objective was to develop along with the communities a study to evaluate alternatives for theAfrican snail control (Achatina fulica Bowdich 1822) in agroforestry backyards. Four solutionswere tested as attractive for the snails. There were no difference between tested treatments.A solution with hypochlorite seemed to be more effective for slaughtering the animals aftercapture. It was observed trap position effect on the number of snails attracted. This allowedthe verification of garbage and materials that provide shelter for the immature forms of snail inthe area and it was determinant for the results. As a recommendation, we emphasize that theinitial stages of the agroforestry backyard installation indeed require prior cleaning and removalof materials to avoid snails depredation during plants development and food production.
