Currently, the development of hydrocarbon deposits on the Black Sea shelf, characterized by difficult mining and geological conditions, requires the development of new effective technological solutions in the field of well drilling. An urgent task is to select the optimal drilling fluids to prevent loss of circulation, minimize the likelihood of stuck and damage to productive horizons. Drilling fluids containing aphrons are well known in the world drilling practice, but they have not yet found wide circulation in the Russian market. These drilling fluid systems are designed to solve these problems at lower costs than technologies that require expensive equipment and relevant competencies, and are also a promising solution that can make a significant contribution to the development of Russian drilling technologies. This article highlights the results of generalization and analysis of scientific literature on the study of drilling fluids, the development of compositions and technology based on the use of aphron systems.
